That's right! On January 31, Flag on the Play will be released! I hope you enjoy it as much as I had fun writing about it! It is a romantic comedy about the NFL. It is a work of fiction and I made sure not to offend anyone's teams.
We have had beautiful weather for the weekend! It is to be in the 70's today. Unfortunately, overnight the temps will drop dramatically as a cold front moves through. That's one of things I like about Texas weather; it doesn't last long. Just wait a couple of days and it will change.
Since I complained about not having enough time to write, my family left me alone yesterday. Yup! They actually went out and ran errands without me. I sat down at my laptop with my fingers over the keyboard waiting for some divine inspiration and nada. My mind was a total blank.
Even last night, I didn't dream which is highly unusual for me. I decided to treat myself to a movie to get my creative juices flowing. I might go for a walk too. Maybe I will see something to trigger my imagination.

Stress Level is on High!
It's getting close! Date is 1/31/14! I received my Copy Edits last Monday which turned out perfectly. I had to have my very first colonoscopy on Wednesday, so I locked myself in a room on Tuesday and finished up the edits. I could still smell the French fries that my husband bought for lunch though. Me and my popsicles and jello while he eats French fries. Not fair!!!
Because I am my mother's daughter, I thought I better send the completed edits into the editor just in case I didn't make it through this surgery so that my poor daughter and husband wouldn't have to go through my files on my laptop.....
I did make it through the surgery and they found and removed four polyps. I think now I might have to have this done often rather than wait another ten years. At least I lost some weight!
Friday, I received the final draft for the book. This is where it goes from Word to a PDF format. It is a saved document so I can't make changes. I have to make a list of the changes to give to my editor. This is due back on Tuesday morning.
I'm done looking but now I have to create an Excel worksheet for them. Right now, I'm taking a break because of eye strain!

A Day in the Life
I would have to say, it was a pretty good week. I got a lot accomplished that I had hoped to complete. But I have the dreaded first colonoscopy scheduled for Wednesday this coming week and being a somewhat healthy person, other than my SVT, I just dread it.
You see, it's not the actual surgery I'm anxious about, it's all about the prep. For those who know me, I am not a big eater. Sometimes, I forget to eat, but when I am hungry, I'm starved! I love my fruit, nuts, tortilla shells, and muffins. Oh, I can't forget about my cheese either! I wonder if you see the drift where I'm going? I can't have any of that on Tuesday. All I can have is popsicles, jello, broth, clear liquids...I'm gonna starve! Granted, it's only for twenty-four hours, but still.
Yesterday was my husband's birthday. We did lots of errands, trying to get my mind off of this procedure. It was so nice yesterday, I even went for a two hour power walk, hoping to work out my anxieties. But where did that land me? In the ER with a heart rate of 200 beats a minute. I had taken my medication early to stave off the attack but after about forty-five minutes at that rate, I broke down and went to the ER. I registered in at that rate but when the doctor came in, I was down to 86. The medication had finally kicked in. I haven't had an attack in quite a while, so I know what caused it.
My husband said he doesn't want a birthday like that again! I told him as long as I don't have to go thru this again, it's a deal!!

Happy New Year!!
What a great New Years! Family came down from Illinois and we had really nice weather in Dallas. They didn't want to leave because of the cold snowy weather they were going home to face.
I got to show them what really goes into writing a book; the edits and selecting of the cover art (which I have to say for LazyDay Pub is tops!!) I think as readers and teachers, they have more support of the hard work that's involved.
We finally made it to Fort Worth to see the Stockyards and the worlds largest Honky Tonk, Billy Bob's. That was fun. It's only been four years that we've lived here and it took company to go there.
They introduced us to a game called Apples to Apples. I have never laughed as hard in my life! We must have played for hours. I can see the more people you have play, the more fun it is.
The other thing we got a chuckle from is how many rolls of toilet paper we went through in 4 days. Five people and almost 6 rolls of it. I think it's because we ate and drank a little too much but it was kind of funny to see how many rolls were lined up on the counter to go out to the recycle bin!
Starting tomorrow, we are back to normal. At least we had fun while it lasted!
Happy New Year and may God bless!
