This has been a challenging couple of days....I will first start with our Internet issues. We have Verizon Fios for our landline, TV, cell phone and internet services. The router is about four years old, the same unit we've had since we've moved in. It's anchored to my husband's desktop. My office is upstairs and my little notebook has always worked. However, last week it didn't, so I called Verizon and a very nice lady walked me through how to reset the router. It worked! Sure enough, a couple of days later, it stopped. Once again I called Verizon and was on the phone with them for an hour when they determined I did need a new router.  You see, I worked help desk for three years so I'm pretty much tech savvy when it comes to things like this so if I say there is a problem, I get a little upset when people don't believe me. The new one came so I will hook it up soon. I found out that if I logon downstairs, I get the connection. I can quickly run upstairs and it will last for a while. When it goes out, I run downstairs to get reconnected. At least I'm getting my exercise.

Next! I will never own a house with a pool again. For the last four years, everyone who has come out to service the pool has told us we need a new control panel. Somehow, these people have jerryrigged it to work. Not so this year. The panel was not getting any electrical current. So we bit the bullet, breaking out budget and had the new one installed on Friday. The technician could not get the lights to work. He said the circuit is not on the home's breaker, it has another breaker. Where is it? I know I looked like a deer in the headlights but I have no clue! The previous owners are the ones who had the pool installed, not us. So, now he is coming back with his supervisor to see if they can correct the problem. $$$$$ Oh, by the way? While running the new board, we have found three more leaks in the o rings and the motor that runs bubbles in the spa? It's dead. $$$$$

Dallas is having a spell of cold weather so when I got up this morning, I noticed it was a little chilly. I didn't think anything of it because we are on a slab and it's usually chilly in the mornings. The longer I sat at the table reading the newspaper, it became colder. I looked at the thermostat...64? We have it set at 68. This is the new system we had installed in October when the hail storm ruined our a/c unit outside. My husband, God bless his soul, came  out of the shower and asked why it was so cold? Reset the breaker and the heat came back on. Maybe there is a gremlin in our breaker box?

This is where I get ideas for my books. From my life!

What a weekend! Worked on my next book and am pleased with the way it's going.

I hope you are all enjoying Play for Me!

The weather was downright gorgeous. Took lots of long walks to help ease my back from sitting in front of the laptop for hours on end.

This week, Dallas is going to have an interesting array of weather; sunshine, 70's, storms, sleet, freezing rain and then back to 70's and sunshine. Never a dull moment! Just hope we don't lose power during the storms!

I am SO excited! I received the final edits over the weekend and Play for Me will be released on 2/13/2013! Look for it on www.lazydaypub.com, www.amazon.com, and www.bn.com.

I have desperately trying to lose some weight that had the nerve to sneak up on me over the holidays. It is so frustrating because I have cut down on a lot. For those of you who really know me, I hardly eat as it is, so for me to cut down, you're probably asking, 'what are you eating?' I have medication I take at night for my SVT and I should not take it on an empty stomach. I found myself having a little 'something' with the pill. Then I realized I was still full from dinner and there isn't any need for me to eat something.

I exercise an hour a day as it is before breakfast but I guess my body is so used to it now, it doesn't matter. The weather has been unusually warm here in Texas, so I've added an hour walk to my routine. I haven't been on a scale lately, but I can feel some weight loss in my 'fat' jeans which is encouraging.  My husband does not understand and can't figure out why I just don't buy new clothes in a bigger size. NO!!

Wish me luck!

I need some downtime! I have done nothing but run errands, appointments and you name it!  My girlfriend sent me an envelope of hardback books which arrived on Monday. In it was the new book by Sandra Brown, Low Pressure. All I wanted to do is sit in my woman cave and read it but life kept getting in the way. One of these days, I will have time to read it!

So today is the superbowl. None of my teams are in it but I will still watch it. I hope it's a good game. I also want to watch the Puppy Bowl on the Animal Planet channel.

Still working on my next book. I have so many ideas that I need to channel them.

Can't complain about the weather...it's to be 70 today! On 2/3!

It was a milestone for me this weekend!  I received my copy edits for Play for Me last Tuesday and I finished them a day early and sent them in on Sunday. The editor has such great ideas and suggestions. I really appreciated them.

I am working on my next book, doing research and such. I am at the library again. Even though it is a school day, there are tons of college students here who have taken the tables with the electrical outlets.  Also, there is a reading program going on for toddlers. Some have escaped, but I don't understand why the library personnel doesn't reprimand the parents of screaming toddlers. People come ot the library to work. Next time, I will bring ear plugs.

Since I majored in music, I cannot listen to music and write. I have tried but I listen to every note, chord, transition and find myself so wrapped up in the music, I can't concentrate on my writing. Which is why I come to the library because someone is always listening to music in our house.

Crazy weather around here. We've been having spring temps; in the upper 60's and 70's. My outside plants are very confused.....the daffodils and tulips are coming up....in January?

First off, Happy Birthday to our cousin Kristin! Also well wishes to cousin Paul who had a heart attack on Friday. He's only 48!  I hope he is doing well after emergency surgery.

So today, I was all ready to get down to work when McAffee decided to run a scan. I usually do it on Mondays, so why today? I cancelled the scan and then it decided to do updates. Let me tell you, it really slows down my computer. Waited that out and then Windows decided to run updates and needed to reboot the computer. So, I asked if this was a sign from God that I should be doing something else?

It is a beautiful day outside with temps in the upper 60's. I think I will take a walk to take advantage of this nice weather. Then, I will go back to work. I had some active dreams last night and jotted down some ideas for my next book.

Football today, though. Torn about the later game...we shall see!

Have a great day!
